You're a dumbass if you think a manual has some magic advantage in safety. Creating danger as your agruing point, especially one that describes an unsafe situation (with any transmission) is fucking dumb. You can't seem to separate the shift shock grip from the power acceleration grip. Even so, let's play with both: Shock grip: Automatic is smoother, low boost loss, less chance of spikes, no chance of missing a gear, linear power delivery. Acceleration grip: Two cars, two trannies, exactly same 600RWHP setup/boost profile. NEITHER car is going to grip on street tires, nor would anyone expect it. You have a flawed analogy. Still, any amount of modulating you can do with the clutch will slow the car significantly below the acceleration grip limit, as will using the throttle to modulate. Neither of which is ideal.
